The Ultimate Management and Leadership Skills Course

Becoming a great manager takes more than technical knowledge.

Many new managers are surprised by how challenging it can be to lead effectively. One of the biggest challenges is managing relationships with employees, co-workers, and bosses — and weak interpersonal skills are a common reason managers struggle.

This course helps you develop greater self-awareness and self-reflection, so you can respond thoughtfully and intentionally instead of simply reacting to situations.

The course covers three essential areas:

1. Understanding your strengths and managing yourself effectively
2. Managing your team for high performance
3. Managing processes and implementing your values

Each section focuses on practical management skills, supported by real-world examples.

Thrive as a woman with management skills success

Women Succeeding in Management and Leadership

Women bring unique strengths to leadership — and face equally unique challenges.

Today, more companies and governments are actively working to advance women in leadership. Yet despite strong evidence that women excel in areas such as emotional intelligence, relationship-building, and time management, women remain significantly underrepresented in top leadership roles.

More women in management can strengthen both workplace culture and business performance.

This course helps women become stronger, more confident leaders.

You’ll learn how to identify your leadership strengths, overcome self-sabotaging behaviors, communicate and listen effectively, handle difficult conversations, and understand challenges such as the ambition penalty and likability paradox.

The course also covers managing your boss, building productive teams, thinking strategically, increasing confidence, navigating micro-aggressions and sexual harassment, achieving better work-life balance, developing career strategies, and networking effectively.

Dr. Dorothy Marcic is a professor at Columbia University in New York City and has spent decades teaching, researching, and writing about women in management.
